ANNOUNCEMENTS
Deuteronomy 30:9-14 and the Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all your undertakings, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your soil. For the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, just as he delighted in prospering your ancestors, when you obey the Lord your God by observing his commandments and decrees that are written in this book of the law, because you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Surely, this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too hard for you, nor is it too far away. It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?’ Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross to the other side of the sea for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?’ No, the word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to observe.

Children of God, are you listening? Have you noticed? God has planted seeds of hope among us.
We have heard of this hope!
Are you listening? Have you noticed? God nurtures hope among us, helping us bear the fruit of faithfulness in this world.
We seek this hope as we learn to live in faith.
Are you listening? Have you noticed? The hope of God’s good news forms you to love one another with the love of Christ.
We cling to this hope as we grow in love of God, self, neighbor, and all creation.
Children of God, come! Come, let us worship God who graciously offers us the gift of hope.
ALL: Come, let us worship God who empowers us to put our hope into faithful and loving actions!
SCRIPTURE Psalm 82
Psalm 82
A Plea for Justice A Psalm of Asaph.
1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgement:
2 ‘How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked?
3 Give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.’
5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk around in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 I say, ‘You are gods, children of the Most High, all of you;
7 nevertheless, you shall die like mortals, and fall like any prince.’
8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth; for all the nations belong to you!
